Bethpage Ride Bike Rentals Wildly Popular

Launched in 2019, the Bethpage Ride bike share program has proven to be wildly popular here in Babylon Village. Ridership on the brightly colored orange beach cruisers with the roomy white baskets, has grown each year, with nearly 450 rides taken to date in 2021 alone.

New Kayak / Paddleboard Launch installed at Argyle Marina

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a second kayak/paddleboard launch here in the Village of Babylon on the East side of the Argyle Marina directly behind the Baymen’s Statue. The site features a step down onto a ramp for easy launching and is a great place to drop in and paddle the Foster Creek canal as well as the surrounding canals.

Flood Stabilization Project - Locust Avenue

Among several storm recovery projects in the Town of Babylon approved by the New York State Governors Office of Storm Recovery is one underway to improve conditions at several locations along Carlls River Watershed. One of these locations is Locust Avenue, where work is already underway to widen the culvert on Locust Avenue from 15 to 22 feet.

Village Pool Parking Lot Update

How much are we looking forward to “Summer 2021” in Babylon Village?!! Our summer recreation programs will be starting for our children, our Village golf course is in “full swing,” many of our organizations are scheduling events and activities, and of course, our “Jewel on the Bay,”

Good Village Governance at Work

Babylon Village recently passed a package of measures that will, undoubtedly, help ensure the health, safety and welfare of the residents in the Village. One of the measures sets down the procedure Village code enforcement offices can utilize to address the many incidents of “bike gangs” that harass and frighten drivers and pedestrians.

Gardening as a Community

The Nathaniel Conklin House is home to stunning flower and vegetable gardens throughout the property. The Steering Committee recently launched the Conklin House Community Gardening Program to encourage residents to participate in creating, maintaining and harvesting this beautiful bounty.

Babylon Village Bike Rodeo: Teaching Safety on the Road

As part of National Bicycle Safety Month, younger Babylon Village residents recently learned the ABC’s of safe biking at a Bike Rodeo organized by the Babylon Bicycle Advisory Committee in collaboration with the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety and LI Transit Solutions.

Summer Employment Opportunities

Summer Employment applications are now available for the 2021 summer season at the Village Pool, Parks and Recreation Department, the Highway Department and clerical positions in Village Hall.

“Shed the Meds” Take-Back Day Event

To help keep Babylon Village residents safe, Trustee Anthony Cardali is joining together with the Village Pharmacy to host "Shed the Meds", a drug take-back day event on Saturday, March 6th from 12 PM - 2 PM at Village Pharmacy at 124 E Main St #103 (behind the Make Up Studio).

Volunteering to Strengthen Our Community

Since 2018, the Village of Babylon’s Volunteer Corps has been helping Village residents with tasks they find difficult to complete on their own, such as snow shoveling or leaf raking, by connecting them with local volunteers. Their mission? To strengthen our community through service and volunteerism.
