It is that time of the year when our Village is very busy with activities! Please note the following:

Saturday, October 18th, 2025:

The 34th Annual Race with the Lessing family and the Post Office Cafe for MPS is scheduled for this Saturday morning, October 18th, 2025.

The 1k Fun Run begins at 9:30 am and will head down S. Carll Avenue. The 5k follows at 10:00 am and will begin heading north on Carll Avenue.

The race route will be closed for traffic at 9:30 am for north of Montauk Highway and as the race proceeds south of Montauk Highway, we anticipate the race route being closed for traffic from 10:00 am - 10:45 am. We appreciate your cooperation and let's cheer these runners on for a GREAT cause!

Annual Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival – Saturday, October 18th

Downtown Deer Park Avenue 12:00 – 5:00 pm

Street closure of Deer Park Avenue will be directly after the 5K Race. Closure will be from Main Street and Deer Park Avenue up to Deer Park Avenue and Park Avenue. All side streets in this area will be closed for street traffic during this time. We anticipate Deer Park Avenue and all side streets to be fully open by 7:00 pm.

Sunday, October 19th, 2025

11th Annual Suffolk County Marathon to be held on Sunday, October 19th , 2025 for the marathon, half marathon and 10K race.

The race will officially begin on Deer Park Avenue and Railroad Avenue going south, head west on Montauk Highway around Argyle Lake to Railroad Avenue, south on Deer Park Avenue and then east on Montauk Highway to continue the race to West Islip and over the bridge and end in Gardiners Park.

There will only be 1 start time this year and that is scheduled for 7:30 AM. **Roads in the Village of Babylon will be closed prior to the event beginning at 6:00 am on Deer Park Avenue. Our last athlete should pass Route 231 by 8:15 AM and at that time all roads in the Village will be reopened**

Suffolk County Police Department and Babylon Village Code Enforcement will be there to ensure that everyone is safe and the area for the run is secure. Babylon Village Code Enforcement can be contacted at (631) 894-2949 or Mayor Mary Adams at (516) 819-9596 with any questions or concerns.

Please come out on Deer Park Avenue and cheer all our runners on Sunday! The Suffolk County Marathon raises money to benefit veterans and has raised over $700,000 for local veteran's services.

  • If you need to leave your home, please plan on leaving NO LATER than 7:00 am. Once the race begins at 7:30 am, all streets will be at a full closure. We anticipate that all Village roads will be fully re-opened by 8:15 – 8:30 am
