For our Village of Babylon Residents:
As we are all preparing for the blizzard event to head our way over these next few days, please be aware of these important notifications:
1. Sanitation in the Village of Babylon will be suspended for Monday, February 22nd, 2026. We will be on a holiday schedule as the Sanitation calendar dictates. *Recycling will be Thursday on our South streets and Friday on our North streets.*
**Please do not place any rubbish or trash to the curb until Monday evening after 6:00 pm for Tuesday pick up**
2. All cars MUST be off Village streets so emergency vehicles if needed can fully access streets safely. This also greatly helps our snow plows clear the street properly. **Code Enforcement will be issuing summonses should vehicles remain on the streets and roadways that become a detriment for plowing, safety and emergency vehicles.**
Village municipal parking lots are available for parking during this time. Please use the municipal lots at James Street (behind Gemellis), George Street, S. Carll Avenue (across from the Babylon Public Library) and the lot behind Bunger Surf Shop. You will not be ticketed but please place a note in the driver's side windshield as to your parking during the storm.
3. Our Babylon Fire Department will be on a stand by beginning at 7:00 pm this evening, Sunday, February 22nd, 2026. **Please clear the fire hydrants near your home by at least 3 feet around so hoses can be connected quickly if needed. The life saved could be a family member of neighbor.**
4. Village of Babylon offices will be closed on Monday, February 22nd, 2026. Please contact Code Enforcement at (631) 894-2949 or I can be reached at (516) 819-9596.
Be assured that our Village crews are prepared and ready to roll beginning later this afternoon. This storm is set to be one that is going to be difficult. I thank our Village residents in advance for your patience as we focus to have main roadways kept safe and clear and as additional crews work on our Village streets.

Spring is around the corner, opening day for the Village Pool is Friday, June 26th and our Village Golf Course is looking to open for the season on Monday, March 23rd. Boating season begins April 1st! Better days are ahead, Babylon Village!
