Jeff Szabo, Trustee

Jeff is a long time Babylon Village resident who brings more than two decades of public service and leadership experience to this position. Serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Suffolk County Water Authority since 2010, Jeff has led the effort to reposition the organization as well as implementing changes in technology to benefit and service the consumer.

Previously, Jeff served as the Deputy County Executive and Chief of Staff for Suffolk County. Jeff also created and serves as Chairman of the historic Long Island Commission for Aquifer Protection (LICAP) which looks at water quantity and quality regionally. Jeff also serves as the Chairman of the Central Pine Barrens Advisory Committee and in 2005, he was a “40 under 40” award recipient of the Long Island Business News. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University.

“I’m honored to serve the residents of Babylon Village and work alongside Mayor Adams and Trustees Seibert, Bencivenga and Cardali” Szabo said. “I love Babylon Village, it’s a wonderful community and I look forward to helping preserve the character and quality of life that we all enjoy and that make our Village such a special place.”

In addition, Jeff truly enjoyed the company of his dear friend, Trustee Sean Goodwin. “I will do my very best to carry forward the good work done by my friend, Sean Goodwin,” said Szabo.

The Village Board of Trustees are looking forward to working with Trustee Jeff Szabo and as a team working to keep our Village a great place to live, work and enjoy. As always, protecting our quality of life, keeping all the services our Village residents enjoy, having a vibrant downtown while ensuring the Village charm and keeping our traditions and history alive for years to come is our priority.
