Public Hearing November 8, 2022 Proposed Local Laws of 2022: 1108PH 343-67 Stop Intersections & 1108PH 365-20 Land use regulations

A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2022. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 6:30 PM. On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga the Board recessed until after the public hearing.

153 WEST MAIN STREET, BABYLON, NEW YORK,

ON TUESDAY,

NOVEMBER 8, 2022

The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Cardali

The Village Clerk read the legal notice:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing at the Municipal Building, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, NY, on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the adoption of proposed Local Law 1108PH §343-67 of the year 2022 to amend Village Code Chapter §343-67, IX, to add stop signs at the following intersections:

- on Nehring Avenue at the intersections of Bacon Lane

    Complete text of the above Local Law is available in the Office of the Village Clerk, on the Village website: www.villageofbabylonny.gov, or can be requested by calling the Village Clerk’s Office at (631) 669-1500.

    All interested persons should appear at the above time and place and they will be given an opportunity to be heard.

    The Board felt this proposed local law may help to reduce speeding through the residential streets in this area.

    The meeting was opened to the public; the following residents addressed the Board:

    Nancy Iglesias, 408 Ann St, Babylon

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to reserve decision.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing at the Municipal Building, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, NY, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the adoption of proposed Local Law 1108PH §365-20 of the year 2022 to amend Village Code Chapter §365-20 concerning land-use regulations for the downtown business district.

    Complete text of the above Local Law is available in the Office of the Village Clerk, on the Village website: www.villageofbabylonny.gov, or can be requested by calling the Village Clerk’s Office at (631) 669-1500.

    All interested persons should appear at the above time and place and they will be given an opportunity to be heard.

    Any changes proposed in this Local Law will affect the vision of the Village going forward. The Board wanted to hear input from the public.

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to reserve decision.

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, the public hearing was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
