ON TUESDAY,

JANUARY 24, 2023

The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m.

The Village Clerk read the legal notice:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing at 153 West Main Street, on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the application of Steven Squitiro, owner of The Standard on the Bay, LLC, for new covenants & restrictions and to increase the size of The Piermont, 494 Fire Island Avenue.

Copy of application and plans may be examined at the office of the Village Clerk, between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday.

All interested persons should appear at the above time and place and they will be given the opportunity to be heard. All applicants and their duly appointed representatives must appear in person at the above hearing.

Mr. Squitiro explained his plans to add a rooftop deck to The Piermont. The area will be squared off to add room, not occupancy.

The board addressed concerns about the operating hours of 9 am – 3 am.  Mr. Squitiro said that he used the hours that are listed on his liquor license and most parties end by 1 am. The board also addressed the retaining wall that separates the parking lot from the sidewalk.  Mr. Squitiro said that he would repair it.

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to reserve decision.

    The meeting was opened to the public; the following people addressed the Board:

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing at 153 West Main Street, on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the application of Dana & Aldo Gervasi, of Dalbert Corp. to open a family pizzeria & restaurant with delivery and take out at 258 Deer Park Avenue, the former location of Gino’s Pizza.

    Copy of application and plans may be examined at the office of the Village Clerk, between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday.

    All interested persons should appear at the above time and place and they will be given the opportunity to be heard. All applicants and their duly appointed representatives must appear in person at the above hearing.

    It was explained that the Board is having this hearing only to confirm that the restaurant will be maintained as a pizzeria.

    Mr. Gervasi explained that there will be no structural changes, or changes to the hours at this time. He is requesting a temporary banner to cover the name Gino’s on the sign, showing the new name Bella Pazzo. He understands that he needs to return to the Planning Board for any other changes. It was discussed that he will be seeking to stay open for delivery until 2:30 am and he will be applying for seasonal outdoor seating.

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Miga and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to reserve decision.
