A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2025. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga Trustee Cardali, Trustee Goodwin and Attorney Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:04 PM. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 7:56 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:01 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Seibert.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 13th, 2025 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated May 26, 2025:

RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Thomas Annicaro as an additional part time building inspector at an hourly rate of $33.00 effective May 14, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Aidan Dunn as a part time Parking Meter Officer with an hourly rate of $15.00 effective May 8, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Goodwin and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Kieran O’Halloran to hold the “3rd Annual EnsO Basketball Tournament” at the Park Avenue Courts on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 (rain date July 19th) from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Attendance for this event is expected to be approximately 125 people.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the attached contract renewal for Central Poly Corporation through May 31, 2026. [#1559]
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to change Alex Holcomb from a part- time laborer to a full-time laborer effective May 1, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Babylon United Methodist Church to display 8 ½’ x 11” flyers in windows of Village merchants, from June 16th to August 11th, 2025, to promote their Vacation Bible School.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to The Maebara Family to operate a “Lemonade Stand for a Cause” by the tennis courts/playground on Park Avenue om Saturday June 7th, 2025 (rain date, Saturday June 21st), beginning at 9:00 AM to raise donations for St. Joseph’s food pantry.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED grant permission to Jack Monteleone to maintain temporary 18”x 24” signs at various merchants in the Village from June 16th to August 10th, 2025 to promote the Adrenal Cancer Awareness fundraiser to be held on August 10th, 2025 at the Gazebo.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for May 27, 2025:
General Account: $ 117,584.58
Conklin House: $ 637.50
Total General Fund: $ 118,222.08

On the motion of Trustee Goodwin, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold a Bike Parade on June 21, 2025 starting at 10am, with a rain date of June 22, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Goodwin, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold a Car Free bike ride through Southards Park on September 27, 2025 starting at 3pm, with a rain date of September 28, 2025.
The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert reminded registration for the summer recreation program ends May 31st.
- Trustee Bencivenga stated all boat slips have been assigned.
- Trustee Cardali said pool season opens Friday, June 27th, at 12 noon. Looking forward to a great season; movie nights, cornhole tournament, live music Sundays. Check for details. Last day to register for swim lessons is Saturday, June 7th at the pool, from 9AM-12 noon.
- · Trustee Goodwin informed us of the following upcoming events:
- o Saturday, May 31st – Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame will be Honoring the Cuban Giants at Argyle Park at 10AM- reception of hotdogs at the museum to follow.
- o Sunday, June 1st – Pride Parade – lineup starts at 2PM- parade at 3:00 PM
- o Thursday, June 12th – Chamber of Commerce Block Party – Conklin House will be open from 5 – 9 PM.
The meeting was opened to the public and the following person addressed the Board.
