A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2026. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga ,Trustee Cardali, Trustee Szabo and Attorney Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 6:35 PM. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:00 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:03 PM.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Szabo.

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2026 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

The Deputy Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated June 16th , 2026:

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to accept the attached contract renewal for BM Maintenance Corp. for the 2026-2027 Snow Removal Season. [#1518]

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to grant permission to Babylon Jr.-Sr. High School to use the Park Avenue tennis courts (north and south side) from August 24th through November 7th, 2026, between 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM, for the Junior Varsity and Junior High Girls Tennis teams. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.

    On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was

    • RESOLVED to grant permission to the Post Office Café to host the 35th Annual 5K for MPS on Saturday, October 17th, 2026, with road closures from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required certificate of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a signed and notarized hold harmless agreement.

    On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to have Jiffy Junk do a property clean up at 89 Park Avenue and apply the cost to the homeowner’s tax bill.

    On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was

    RESOLVED to issue a partial refund of $1,527.50 to Godfrey Milano for giving up Boat Slip #3 at Main Dock permanently,

    And,

    RESOLVED also to issue a partial refund of $619.00 to Godfrey Milano for giving up a second slip, #27 at Beach Canal, for the 2026 season.

      On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was

      RESOLVED to grant permission to the g6pd Deficiency Foundation to hold a golf outing at the Sumpwams Creek Golf Course on Monday, August 31st, 2026 7:00 am – 2:30 pm. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured, as well as a signed & notarized hold harmless agreement.

      On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was

      RESOLVED to accept the request of Scott Glenn to retire from the Village of Babylon effective June 30, 2026.

      The Mayor and Trustees thanked Superintendent Scott Glenn for his years of service and all he had done for the Village through the years and wished him well in his retirement.

        On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was

        RESOLVED to grant permission to the residents of Deerfield Court to hold a block party on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The street will be blocked between Deerfield Court and Meade Avenue, subject to parking restrictions for emergency purposes.

        On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was

        RESOLVED to grant permission to Babylon United Methodist Church to display 8 ½’ x 11” flyers in windows of Village merchants, from July 6th to July 27th, 2026, to promote their Vacation Bible School being held August 3rd through August 7th, 2026.

          On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was

          RESOLVED to change the date of the Snapper Derby at the Main Dock to August 22, 2026, from August 29, 2026, 9-12pm.

            On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was

            RESOLVED to grant permission to 9-1-1 Veterans to hold a “Strides for Life” 5K Run in Southards Pond Park on July 25, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM to raise awareness and funds for Veterans in our community. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.

              On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was

              RESOLVED to approve the attached Warrant for June 23, 2026:

                                  GENERAL ACCOUNT:                   $ 430,205.86

                            TOTAL GENERAL FUND:                    $ 430,205.86

                                         CAPITAL FUND:                     $ 767, 859.00

                                           TRUST FUND:                      $       8,533.24

              The following announcements were made:

              • Trustee Seibert stated the staff for recreational program is all trained and ready to go on July 6th.
              • Trustee Bencivenga said golf camp starts Monday, June 27th. He is also looking at dates for the free golf clinic.
              • · Trustee Cardali announced the pool will open Friday 26th at noon. Thanked all involved for getting everything ready.
              • · Trustee Szabo stated the Historical Society is hosting a fundraiser for the Hero’s Fountain on Sunday, June 28th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Commemorative bricks will be sold.

              The meeting was open to the public and no one addressed the Board.

              On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:28 PM.
