A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2025. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Cardali, and Attorney Casolaro. Absent were: Trustee Bencivenga and Trustee Goodwin. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:02 PM. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:00 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:03 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Seibert.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 27th, 2025 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk stated there was no correspondence.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to adopt “Babylon Village Where History is Made” as the official Village of Babylon motto effective June 2, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to change Alex Holcomb from a part- time laborer to a full-time laborer with an annual salary of $39,520 effective May 1, 2025.

On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the attached contract renewal for Traditional Air Conditioning Systems & Service from December 17, 2024 through December 16, 2025. [#1430].
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of John O’Farrell, Zoning Board Alternate, effective June 1, 2025.
Trustee Seibert read the following Resolution and polled the Board.
WHEREAS, pursuant to New York State Village Law, Municipal Home Rule Law and the Code of the Village of Babylon, the Board of Trustees, to maintain and protect the property, affairs, and governmental functions of the Village, has determined it necessary for the Village to retain, in perpetuity, ownership of those certain properties and assets, as listed below; and,
WHEREAS, the Village, acting to protect its financial integrity and to preserve the Village’s public safety and property, has determined that it is necessary to maintain ownership of those certain properties and assets; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that by this Resolution, the Board of Trustees hereby prohibits, in perpetuity, the sale of the Gilbert C. Hanse Village Pool, E. Donald Conroy Golf Course, Nathaniel Conklin House and Village of Babylon Historical and Preservation Society, which properties and assets shall forever be owned and controlled by the Village of Babylon.
WHEREFOR, this RESOLUTION, hereby adopted by vote of the Board of Trustees on June 10, 2025, shall be promptly recorded in the Office of the Village Clerk, and made part of the public record.

On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a partial refund in the amount of $780.00 to Thomas Weber for giving up Boat Slip #11 at Lewis Pond permanently as of June 2, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to 9-1-1 Veterans to hold a “Strides for Life” 5K Run in Southards Pond Park on July 26, 2025 beginning at 9:00 AM, to raise awareness and funds for Veterans in our community. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for June 10, 2025:
General Account: $ 361,437.39
Trust Fund: $ 879.00
TOTAL: $ 362,316.39
The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert stated all Summer Recreation program employees are trained and the programs start June 30th.
- Trustee Cardali stated swim lessons registration is complete and opening day is Friday, June 27th at noon. Thanks to the pool crew for all their work preparing for the season.
The meeting was opened to the public and nobody addressed the Board.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:14 PM.
