A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2025. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga, Trustee Cardali, Trustee Szabo and Attorney Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 7:04 PM. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 7:59 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:00 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Szabo.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the November 24th, 2025, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk stated that there was no correspondence.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to have DeGennaro’s Landscaping maintain the following Village properties for 2025 and add all charges to the property tax bills:
- 128 Village Line Road
- 25 E. Shore Road
- 24 Paumanake Ave
- 102 Mayhew Ave.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to extend the term of Susan Harris as Chairperson of the ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD expiring November 2028.
Trustee Seibert stated that Sue Harris is one of our longest sitting Board Members with over 30 years of service.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Najee Okomba, full time labor employee, effective November 11, 2025. *correction from 11/24/25 Resolution
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amounts indicated to the applicants listed below for the return of ZBA signs. [Hearing Date 11/19/2025]

On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of part time laborer Robert Yeznach effective November 24, 2025.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for December 9, 2025:
GENERAL ACCOUNT: $ 365,036.60
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 365,036.60
CAPITAL FUND: $ 84,414.08
TOTAL: $ 449,450.68
On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church to use Argyle Park at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, January 11, 2025, for the annual Blessing of the Waters. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required certificates of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.
The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert stated we are waiting for new playground equipment for Stowe Avenue. The annual tree lightning at Argle Park was spectacular this year.
- Trustee Bencivenga will be surveying the docks; any boats left in the water that are not registered for winter mooring will get ticketed. The Golf Course is closed for the season, preparing for the 2026 season. Trustee Bencivenga thanked those who supported Boy Scout Troop 194’s 51st annual spaghetti dinner that followed the tree lightning ceremony.
- Trustee Cardali reminded all that the annual Fire Department Santa Run is this Saturday starting at 11:00 AM. Trustee Cardali also thanked the Parks and Highway Departments for their hard work with decorating throughout the Village. Everything looks beautiful. Trustee Cardali also announced the passing of Robert Kalpin, a former member of the Fire Department, with services Sunday & Monday.
- Trustee Szabo stated it was an honor to judge the Cookie Contest at the Conklin House this past Friday and praised BBS & Frank Petruzzo for the tree lighting. He also reminded all of the Christmas Market this weekend at the Gazebo, Saturday- 10:30 AM- 3:00 PM.
- Mayor Adams stated that this is the last meeting of the year. She thanked the Board for all the hard work they do for the Village throughout the year.
- The Mayor and Board wished a Happy Holidays and a wonderful and healthy New Year.
The meeting was opened to the public and the following persons addressed the Board.
