A work session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon was held in the upstairs conference room on TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2026. Present: Mayor Adams, Trustee Seibert, Trustee Bencivenga, Trustee Cardali, Trustee Szabo, and Attorney Casolaro. On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, the work session opened at 6:43 PM. On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, the work session ended at 8:00 PM.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:05 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Seibert.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the July 28th, 2026 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
The Village Clerk stated there was no correspondence.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Public Library to have a “Wellness Walk” around Argyle Lake on the following Saturday mornings, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM:
- September 19th & 26th, 2026
- October 10th & 24th, 2026
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $50 to Roberto Nicolia of Argyle Bloom for the return of one (1) BOT sign for partial refund for the property located at 185 West Main Street, Babylon.
On the motion of Trustee Seibert, seconded by Trustee Szabo and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold Music on the Porch Day on August 29, 2026.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the attached agreement with Island Elevator for elevator maintenance at Village Hall.
And,
ALSO RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement. [#1589]
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Lions Club to hold its annual Golf Outing and Cookout at the E. Donald Conroy Golf Course on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 2:30 PM – 9:00 PM [The golf outing will begin at 3:30 PM, followed by dinner on the deck of the clubhouse at 6:30 PM.] This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificate of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement,
And,
ALSO BE IT RESOLVED to waive the Open Container Section of the Village Code, Chapter 256, for the deck area only, for this event.
On the motion of Trustee Bencivenga, seconded by Trustee Cardali and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the attached agreement with Fair Hill Properties, LLC, for lease of a portion of the parking lot at 42 Fire Island Avenue.
And,
ALSO RESOLVED to authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement. [#1428]
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $160.41 to Quaint Oak Bank for duplicate payment of 2026/2027 taxes on the parcel listed below.

RESOLVED to promote Melissa Kalhorn to Paramedic with an annual salary of $83,200 effective August 10, 2026.
On the motion of Trustee Cardali, seconded by Trustee Bencivenga and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the attached Warrant for August 11, 2026:

On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to refund payment for a ZBA application that was withdrawn in the amount of $250 to Christian Altbacker.
On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (a Masonic youth group) to hold a Walk-A-Thon at Argyle Lake Park on Friday, October 2nd, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The girl’s youth group will walk around the Lake 3-4 times to raise funds for Blue Star Mothers Organization. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required certificate of insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an additional insured and a notarized hold harmless agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hold a Village-wide Garage Sale on October 3, 2026, with a rain date of October 10, 2026.
On the motion of Trustee Szabo, seconded by Trustee Seibert and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant a license to the following applicant to drive a taxicab for Lindy’s Taxi/Sunset Taxi in the Village of Babylon:

*The Village Attorney approved this applicant.
The following announcements were made:
- Trustee Seibert stated the Summer Concerts are ongoing Friday nights, 8:00 PM at the Gazebo, though the end of August. The Liverpool Shuffle was rained out on August 7th but rescheduled for September. Summer Recreation programs ended. Snapper Clinic is on Saturday, August 15th & Snapper Derby is Saturday, August 22nd.
- Trustee Bencivenga stated Golf Camp ended after 6 weeks and was a success. Compliments to the grounds crew and thanks to the golf staff. Junior passes are getting sold for the 2026 season at the Clerk’s Office.
- Trustee Cardali updated us on pool happenings. Swim team came in 3rd place at the Town Swim meet. Thanks to the directors and swim coaches. We passed Department of Health inspection. Repairs are still ongoing from the water main break, but pool is open. Pool attendance has been great and we have live music for the next 3 Sundays. Pool is opened every day from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM through Labor Day. The 9/11 Memorial is being held on September 11th @ 8:30 AM; more information to follow.
- · Trustee Szabo thanked all that attended the “Starlit Soiree”. The Babylon Beautification Society is having their Fall Festival on Sunday, September 13th.
The meeting was opened to the public and no one addressed the Board.
