A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, the meeting was opened at 7:09 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:05 p.m.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the October 8, 2013 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with reading of the same.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees hereby acknowledges that pursuant to section 2019-a of the Uniform Justice Court Act, the required Calendar Year of 2013 Audit of the Justice Court of the Incorporated Village of Babylon was performed by the Certified Public Accounting Firm of Skinnon and Faber during October 2013.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refund check in the amount of $2,504.38 for tax settlements on the attached for the 2011-2012 tax year. This resolution is to correct the resolution dated September 24, 2013, which inadvertently issued refund for the 2012 tax year.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon American Legion Post 94 to conduct their annual Veterans Day Observance on Monday, November 11, 2013. The parade begins at 10:00am at Foster Boulevard, proceeds down Deer Park Avenue, and ends at the American Legion Hall, 22 Grove Place, where the program will begin at 11:00 am.
Mayor Scordino asked that everyone try to attend the Veteran’s Day Parade to show support of our Veterans.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refund in the amount of $719, for exemption inadvertently not applied to Section 5 Block 3 Lot 52, as per the assessor’s petitions attached.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to re-appoint Susan Harris to the Architectural Review Board for a three (3) year term which will expire November of 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amount of $25 to each of the applicants listed below for the return of one (1) ZBA sign for partial refund:

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Village Girl Scouts to use the Argyle Gazebo for their annual Holiday Gathering on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to re-appoint Theresa Bunger to the Architectural Review Board for a three (3) year term which will expire November of 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

Mayor Scordino made the following announcements:
- The Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm to consider the following applications:
Dah Ping Yeh, Principal of Masa D.P.Y. Corporation, to open a Sushi Restaurant at 94 Deer Park Avenue
Micheline Cummings, Principal of Madame Butterfly Cakes, Inc. to open a Custom Cake and Bakery Café
at 450 Fire Island Avenue
- Village of Babylon offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick up on Monday, November 11, 2013, in observance of the Veteran’s Day Holiday. Residents cannot put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on holidays. These items should be put out the following week on your regular scheduled rubbish / recycling day.
