REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON, WAS HELD IN THE BOARDROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING 153 WEST MAIN STREET, BABYLON, NEW YORK ON TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 8, 2011

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried
Mayor Scordino opened the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried
Mayor Scordino adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:00 p.m.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: approve the minutes of the previous meeting and dispense with the reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: appoint Kristina Everitt as sub-registrar, with a 25 cent per hour increase in salary effective November 7, 2011. An additional 25 cents per hour will be added effective January 1, 2012.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: terminate the employment of James Emmons Simmons, as a part time Highway Laborer for failure to report to work, effective October 27, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: issue a refund in the total amount of $100 to the following for the return of ZBA signs for a partial refund:
Elaine Jurs $25.00
Richard and Barbara Reese $25.00
Larry Bennett $25.00
Richard Bounaparte $25.00
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: grant permission to the Babylon Village Girl Scouts to use the Argyle Gazebo for the annual Holiday gathering on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: hire Frances Peterson, as part time clerical in the Village Court with a salary of $8.25 per hour effective October 24, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: keep a petty cash bank of $300 in the Treasurer’s Office for use by the Mechanic’s Shop to purchase parts needed to repair vehicles.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: issue a refund in the total amount of $100.00 to the following for the return of Board of Trustees signs for a partial refund:

RESOLVED TO: approve the following warrant for November 8, 2011

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: issue a refund in the amount of $2.28 for the overpayment of taxes on
Section 16 Block 1 Lot 6.4

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: grant permission to Lily Flanagan’s to maintain a temporary banner on the building Saturday, November 26, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: hire Freyer Cleaning and Maintenance for cleaning services for the building located at 153 W. Main St. as per the attached contract.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried
WHEREAS a Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011
BE IT HEREBY resolved to approve the application Clinton Oh to open a Tae Kwon Do studio located at 18 Deer Park Ave. Babylon, N.Y.
Mayor Scordino announced that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the adoption of Local Law’s # 8 & 9 of the year 2011.
