A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida, and unanimously carried, the meeting was opened at 6:05p.m. On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Amelia, and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 6:25p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:18p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Amelia.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it
was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the April 23, 2013 regular Board of Trustees
meeting and dispense with reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it
was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Post Office Café to have live bands, with no more
than six (6) members, perform approximately once a month on Friday night from 9:00 p.m. to
1:00 a.m., for a 3 month period of time, to be reviewed after that time.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED that the attached be placed as liens on the 2013-2014 tax roll.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refund in the amount of $140 to Sean O’Neill, as he gave up his Resident Apartment parking permit.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Bryan Musmacker as a part time highway laborer, with a salary of $8.50 per hour, effective April 30, 2013.
Trustee Basile announced that the Conklin House will be having an afternoon tea this Sunday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refund in the amount of $30.47 for overpayment of taxes on Section 7, Block 2, Lot 71, 20 Simon Street.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Robert Adam as part time starter at the golf course, with a salary of $7.25 per hour, effective May 1, 2013.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $20.00 to John K. Sparks, 398 Fire Island Ave., for overpayment on boat berth #44 at Lewis Pond.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $295.00 to Vincenzo Forgione, 90 Stowe Avenue, as he moved from boat berth #33 at Main Dock to #2 at S.E. Lewis Pond. This refund amount includes $220.00 for the difference in the cost of the berths, $25.00 for electric certification, and $50.00 for electric usage that will not be available at Lewis Pond.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $90.00 to Suzanne Vadala, 565 Fire Island Ave., as she moved to a smaller berth, #68 at East Creek.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $770.00 to Samuel Kravis, 125 Cockenoe Ave., as he gave up his boat berth #2 at Lewis Pond.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to remove the following exemption and restore full assessment toSection 19, Block 1, Lot 6, 148 Crescent Ave., formerly owned by Harold and Carrol Freeze, an Alternative Veterans Exemption with an assessed value of 500, and bill the new owners, Milone Realty, $18.00, which is for 100 days @ .18¢ per day for the 2012-2013 tax year.
Trustee Muldowney announced that the golf course building will be delivered on May 23, 2013.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amount of $25.00 to each of the applicants listed below for the return of one (1) ZBA sign for partial refund:

RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph Church to maintain five (5) temporary signs for: St. Joseph Parish
Thrift Shop Tag Sale

Three signs will be submitted for the Village to install at the following locations:
1 sign at the end of Rt. 231
1 sign at the corner of 109 and Montauk Highway
1 sign by the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church on Deer Park Ave.
Two signs will be maintained on the property located at 39 North Carll Avenue.

Trustee Davida announced that pool registration starts this weekend, May 18th, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There is a tremendous mount of work being done at the pool and we are still working towards our target date of opening.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Samuel Abedin as a full time highway laborer, with an annual salary of $20,800, effective April 29, 2013.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $50.00 to Luciano DiRico for the return of two Board of Trustee Public Hearing signs for One West Main Street.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant Suffolk Marine permission to use the Village Municipal Dock for the Striped Bass Tournament. Set up will be during the afternoon of Saturday, June 1, 2013, and the tournament will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2013.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve Jorgo Cora for a license to drive a taxi cab for Lindy’s Taxi in the Village of Babylon.
Mayor Scordino made the following announcements:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held at the Municipal Building, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, NY, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard to consider the adoption of Local Law #3 of the year 2013, to consider amending the zone on the following properties from Retail Business, and Residence A-4 to Residence O
Section 10 Block 2 Lots 3 & 4 (currently zoned Retail Business)
Section 10 Block 2 Lot 24 (currently zoned Residence A-4)
Section 11 Block 1 Lots 2,3,4,6, & 10.1 (currently zoned Retail Business)
