A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:08 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:04 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Amelia.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the February 23rd, 2016, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Kenrick Barrett .50₵ per hour, effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Hykeim Manning .50₵ per hour, effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Raford Toomer .50₵ per hour, effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Village Arts Council to hold free art workshops at the Village Pool from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.on the following Mondays: July 11th, 18th, and 25th, 2016. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to remove the exemption on the 2016/17 Tax Roll as per the attached Assessor’s Petition. [Section 20 /Block 1 /Lot 66; 380 Little East Neck Rd.; Exempt. Prop. A/V 6,100]
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for March 8, 2016:
General Account: $ 247,231.12
TOTAL GENERAL FUND: $ 247,231.12
TRUST FUND: $ 10,906.77

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Marion Frosch $1,000.00 effective March 9th, 2016, having completed her six month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Anthony Nunez $1000.00 effective March 4th, 2016, having completed his six month probationary period.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Nicholas Russo as a Sanitation Laborer, effective March 5th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Rotary Club to hold the Annual Dirty Sock 10K Run on Sunday, August 14th, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Karen Kennedy from her position as the Village Museum Administrator, effective February 25th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph’s Church to hold a ‘LIVE STATIONS OF THE CROSS’ on Good Friday, March 25, 2016, from 1:15 p.m. to approximately 2:45 p.m. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Timothy Pitt .50₵ per hour effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Michael Kennedy .50₵ per hour, effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to increase the salary of Bernardo Archer .50₵ per hour, effective February 29th, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Suffolk Marine to use the Village Municipal Dock from Saturday, June 4th, 2016, through Sunday, June 5th, 2016, for the Striped Bass Tournament to be held on Sunday, June 5th, 2016. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.
Trustee Muldowney announced that, weather permitting, the Village Golf Course is scheduled to open Thursday, March 17, 2016.

RESOLVED to grant a license to the following applicant(s) to drive a taxi cab for Lindy’s Taxi in the Village of Babylon: Alexander Celestin
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant a license to the following applicant(s) to drive a taxi cab for Sunset Taxi in the Village of Babylon: Yasser Sobeh
Mayor Scordino made the following announcements:
- Proposals are hereby requested by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon, 153 West
Main Street, for the Food Concession at the Village Pool. Sealed proposal should be
submitted to the Office of the Village Clerk by 9:30 a.m., March 17, 2016.
The Request for Proposal may be obtained at the Office of the Village Clerk during regular
business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or via email request to
- Village of Babylon Offices will close at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 25th, 2016, in
observance of Good Friday.
The meeting was opened to the public; no one addressed the Board.
