A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:14 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:04 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Amelia.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the February 24, 2015 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the American Legion Babylon Post 94 to hold the Annual Memorial Day Parade and Observance on Monday, May 25th, 2015. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Paul’s Reformed Church to hold a dawn worship service at the Argyle Park Gazebo on Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2015, at 6:30a.m. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for March 10, 2015:

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Timothy Pitt as a sanitation laborer with a salary of $8.00 per hour, effective November 13, 2014.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Rotary Club to hold this year’s Village Classic “Dirty Sock Run” on Sunday, August 16, 2015. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to South Shore Signs, for Kathleen’s Hair Boutique, to maintain a 32” x 42” temporary sign inside the window of the building located at 122 Deer Park Avenue for approximately three (3) weeks.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to make the changes as per the attached Assessor’s Petitions for the 2015/16 Tentative Tax Roll [regarding 100 Little East Neck Road, Section 8, Block 2, Lots 31.1 and 31.2.]
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the formal request of Henry Herman to retire from the Village of Babylon effective March 1, 2015.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph’s Church to have a ‘LIVE STATIONS OF THE CROSS’ on Good Friday, April 3rd, 2015, from 1:15 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Ruth Albin as Village Museum Administrator, effective February 28, 2015.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to appoint Karen Kennedy to fulfill the term of Ruth Albin as Village Museum Administrator effective March 1, 2015.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried,
WHEREAS A PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD on Tuesday, February 24, 2015,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to approve the application of Brooke Jankow of Brooke and Steve Restaurants, Inc., to expand her restaurant, Swell Taco, located at 135 Deer Park Avenue, subject to the attached Covenants and Restrictions.
ALSO BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to approve and adopt the attached Covenants and Restrictions for Swell Taco as of March, 2015.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to Theresa Patiri of Salon Kroma to maintain a temporary sign, 8’ x 2’, on the building located at 80 West Main Street, for approximately 30 days, while waiting for approval from the Architectural Review Board.

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Village Girl Scouts to use the Locust Avenue parking lot for approximately 5 hours to sort and distribute Girl Scout Cookies on one of the dates listed below:

The meeting was opened to the public;
Hapi Auer, 18 Suydam Place, approached the Board as the Babylon Rotary Club Chairman and Race Director of the Village Classic “Dirty Sock Run”. He noted that this year will be the 10th Anniversary of this Long Island Track and Field sanctioned premier running event. This run has raised in excess of $100,000 in proceeds, which helps to feed neighbors in both the Village and Town. Mr. Auer thanked the Village- the Mayor, Trustees, Highway Department, and Residents, for their continued support of this event.
