A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:33 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:02 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Basile.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 24th, 2016, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
Mayor Scordino welcomed new Eagle Scout Andrew L. Klienitzke, who explained his Eagle Scout Project in which he refurbished the Playground on Park Avenue by the Tennis Courts. He fixed broken benches, repainted, brought in sand, etc. to improve the playground. The Mayor expressed appreciation and presented Andrew with a letter, Proclamation, and pin.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire the following employees with regard to the pool for the 2016 season:
Thomas Horstmann Director $16.00 / hour
Danica Schettino Relief Manager $14.00 / hour
Margaret Heartt Relief Manager $13.00 / hour
Laurie VanRossem Swim Lesson Director $20.00 / hour
Laura Giusto Assistant Swim Lesson Director $10.00 / hour
Gerard Horstmann Filterman $15.00 / hour
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire the following:
Jennifer Goeren-Rodriguez, Swim Team Coach ($500 / season);
ALSO RESOLVED to have Michael Kamme teach the Lifeguard Training Course at the pool.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $10.00 to Innovative Design & Maintenance, LLC, for overpayment of Landscaping Permit #976.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund totaling $996.58 to Wells Fargo for duplicate payment of taxes on 15 Tappan Avenue, Section 8, Block 1, Lot 69.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to remove the current exemption and restore full assessment to the property listed below, and bill the new owner accordingly, for the Tax Year as indicated.

RESOLVED to remove the Eligible Fund exemption as per the attached Assessor Petition for 37 Smith Street [Section 7 / Block 1 / Lot 32].
Trustee Davida commented that the pool will be open this weekend, June 18th and 19th.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire the following Directors with regard to the Summer Recreation Program:
Gymnastics: Alison Carty, $1,700 per season
Basketball: Dillon Kelly, $1,700 per season
Tennis: Robert Andrews, $1,700 per season
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $9.00 to Christopher Gargiulo for overpayment of taxes for the property located at 70 George Street.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Village Arts Council to use the Conklin House porch and lawn for the ninth annual Summer Concert on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance, with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as the signed permission letter and signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

RESOLVED that the Open Container Section of the Village Code, Chapter 256, is hereby waived for the following events and locations:

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for June 14th, 2016:

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the residents of Tompkins Avenue to hold a Block Party on Saturday, September 10th, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a rain date of September 11th, 2016. The street will be blocked between Little East Neck Road South and just East of Mayhew Avenue, at #47 & #48 Tompkins Avenue, subject to parking restrictions for emergency purposes.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $991.35 to Kelly Peckholdt for duplicate payment of taxes for the property located at 20 Bradish Lane. [Section 12 / Block 1 / Lot 9]
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $25.00 to James Jackson for duplicate payment of Ramp Permit #34.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to terminate the employment of Robert Rago as a part-time Highway employee effective May 26, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of Charles Blackman as a part-time Highway employee effective May 25, 2016.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to accept the resignation of William McCue as a part-time Highway Laborer effective June 11, 2016.
Trustee Muldowney mentioned that the Golf Course is open and doing well; Golf Gift Certificates are available and are very popular for Father’s Day.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried,
WHEREAS a Bid Opening was held on Thursday, May 19th, 2016, for Drainage Work at Various Locations,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to award the bid to:

Mayor Scordino made the following Announcement:
Join Senator Phil Boyle in the “Shed the Meds” day this Saturday, June 18th, 2016, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Drop off any expired or unwanted prescription medications to the Babylon Village Fire Department Parking Lot near the Highway Department on Carlston Place.
The meeting was opened to the public;
Frank Curtin, 420 Fire Island Avenue, asked about permits to park at the pool.
