A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:03 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Amelia.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the May 27, 2014 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amount of $50.00 to each of the applicants listed below for the return of two (2) ZBA signs for partial refund:

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $450.00 to Michael Maloney for giving up his Boat Berth, #83 at East Creek.
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $70.00 to Lee Bliss for changing from Reserved Parking (Space #686) to Occasional Use Parking (Decal #875).
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Andre Middleton as a Sanitation Laborer with an annual Salary of $20,800 effective June 2, 2014.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Joseph Fraccalvieri as a Highway Laborer with a salary of $8.50 per hour effective June 2, 2014.

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $19.44 for duplicate payment of 2011/12 EPR lien on Section 2 Block 2 Lot 29, 176 Livingston Avenue.
On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to grant permission to the residents of Cadman Avenue to hold a Block Party on Saturday, July 5th, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The street will be blocked between Park Avenue and Locust Avenue, subject to parking restrictions for emergency purposes.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to hire Hykiem Manning as a Sanitation Laborer with a salary of $8.50 per hour effective May 27, 2014.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $35.00 to Brian Barkan, 184 Sumpwams Avenue, for swim lessons for Rebecca Barkan who will take the Lifeguarding Course instead.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amount of $25.00 to each of the applicants listed below for the return of one (1) ZBA sign for partial refund:

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to remove the Eligible Fund Exemption from the following property and restore full assessment for the 2014/15 Tax Year:
Section/Block/Lot: 015-02-028 Property Address: 170 Melbury Road
Section 15 Block 2 Lot 28; 170 MELBURY ROAD - formerly owned by Harold and Renee Pickoff, an Eligible Fund Exemption with an assessed value of 1950, and bill the new property owner a total of $2329.09 for the 2014/15 Tax Year.
Trustee Davida commented that three pool registrations were held and the next opportunity to register will be at the pool on June 21st, from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon.
Trustee Amelia announced that registration for the Summer Recreation Programs will be held at Village Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 23rd, Wednesday, June 25th, and Thursday, June 26th, 2014.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried,
WHEREAS, THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON, with the assistance from THE TOWN OF BABYLON, has gathered information and prepared the 2014 SUFFOLK COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN; and
WHEREAS, THE 2014 SUFFOLK COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN has been prepared in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON is a local unit of government that has afforded the citizens an opportunity to comment and provide input in the Plan; and
WHEREAS, THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON has reviewed the Plan and affirms that the Plan will be updated no less than every five years;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF TRUSTEES that the VILLAGE OF BABYLON adopts the 2014 SUFFOLK COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN as this jursidiction’s Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, and resolves to execute the actions in the Plan.
ADOPTED this 10th day of June 2014 at the meeting of the BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

RESOLVED to approve the application of Russell Webber to drive a taxi cab for Lindy’s Taxi in the Village of Babylon.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was
RESOLVED to approve the application of Leroi Brown to drive a taxi cab for Sunset Taxi in the Village of Babylon.
