REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON WAS HELD IN THE BOARDROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING 153 WEST MAIN STREET, BABYLON NEW YORK ON TUESDAY

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried
Mayor Scordino opened the work session at 7:13 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried
Mayor Scordino adjourned the work session at 7:58 p.m.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: approve the minutes of the previous meeting and dispense with the
reading of the same.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: approve the actions taken at the monthly meeting of the Fire Council held April 19, 2011. Place the following on the Driver’s List of Unit 1-2-8 Jonathan Zocchia, Andrew VonDeesten, Kerry Carlock, Andrew Hoyt, Timothy Cosgro and William Tillinghast, Jr.. Placed James Kelly on the Driver’s List of unit 1-2-3. Placed Andris Garsils on the Driver’s List of Unit 1-2-7. Placed William Tillinghast Sr. on the Driver’s List of Unit 1-2-10. Placed Richard Oehrlein of the Electric Hose Company
No. 4 on sick leave as of March 28, 2011. Placed Christopher Bradley of the Phoenix Hose Company No. 1 on sick leave as of March 21, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: hire Richard Toomer, Jr. as a part time Sanitation Laborer, with a salary of $8.00 per hour, effective April 18, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Vanderveldt, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED THAT: the following bands perform at our Summer Concert Program:

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: hire Vincent Padula Jr. as a part time starter at the Golf Course, with a salary of $7.25 per hour, effective April 14, 2011.
On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Vanderveldt and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED THAT: the starting salary for the Summer Youth Employment Program will be $7.25 per hour, except for those students who do special jobs which have more responsibility.
ALSO RESOLVED: that the attached is the salary schedule for the Summer Youth Employment Program for 2011.
Trustee Muldowney reported that the water was on at the docks and that the bathrooms will be open May 1st.
On the motion of Trustee Davida seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: hire summer employees pre-season to work on registration for the pool at $7.25 per hour.
ALSO RESOLVED: to hire summer employees pre-season to work on clean up of the pool, at $8.50 per hour, with changeover of duties occurring on June 18, 2011, with the opening of the pool.
On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: issue a refund in the amount of $50.00 to the following for the return of ZBA signs for a partial refund:
Sherry Hirschman $25.00
John Broesler $25.00
On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: approve the following warrant for April 26, 2011

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was
RESOLVED TO: grant permission to Sweet Autumn, 99 Deer Park Ave. to maintain a temporary sign on the building until a permanent sign is approved by the ARB.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney it was
RESOLVED TO: adopt the budget for the fiscal year June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012.
The Board was polled and the motion to adopt the budget was unanimous.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried
WHEREAS A Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 to consider the application of Massimiliano Garguilo to open a Wine and Cheese Bar located at 45 Deer Park Ave.
BE IT HEREBY resolved to approve the application of Mr. Garguilo and to adopt the covenants and restrictions determined by the Village Attorney.
On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldoney and unanimously carried
WHEREAS A Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 to consider the application of Rolf Heineman to open an organic breakfast/lunch restaurant located at
64 Deer Park Ave.
BE IT resolved to approve the application of Mr. Heineman and to adopt the covenants and restrictions determined by the Village Attorney.
