**UPCOMING SUFFOLK COUNTY MARATHON, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, 2021**
The Village of Babylon is proud to be a sponsor of the Suffolk County Marathon and excited to be the "starting line" for all the runners participating in the marathon to support our veterans. The following is the timetable with street closures and anticipated reopening of all roads in the Village of Babylon. Thank you to Suffolk County Police Department for all their assistance in handling the details of the marathon and in keeping all runners and our Village of Babylon residents and guests safe.
5:30 AM Closure of Route 231 on John Street
6:00 AM Closure of Deer Park Avenue from Park Avenue to Montauk Highway
6:30 AM Closure of all streets
7:30 AM Start of Half Marathon, Full Marathon and 10K Run
8:15 AM Start of 5K Run
Starting Line will be on Deer Park Avenue and Railroad Avenue. The following streets in the Village of Babylon will be subject to closure beginning at 6:30 AM on Sunday, October 24th, 2021:
Deer Park Avenue from Park Avenue including The Barn, George Street, James Street, Grove Place and W. Main Street. W. Main Street including Fire Island Avenue, Cottage Row, Mansfield Road, S. Carll and N. Carll Avenues, Thompson Avenue and Belton Road, Argyle Avenue, Melbury Road, Douglas and Peninsula Drive from W. Main Street. Peninsula Drive and Woodsome Road. W. Main Street to Little E. Neck Road S., and Tappan Avenue.
Little E. Neck and W. Main Street including Perridale Ct, Pearsall Street, Litchfield and Bulger Streets, Highland Place, Lowerre Street, Robert Street and Cameron Avenue, Trolley Line Road from Little E. Neck Road and Litchfield Avenue, Trolley Line Road and Argyle Avenue, Trolley Line and N. Carll Avenues, Railroad Avenue east of N. Carll Avenue, Gemelli Parking Lot on W. Main Street of Deer Park Avenue, E. Main Street and Totten Place, Cooper Street and Willow Street.
All roads in the Village of Babylon are expected to open by 9:30 am on Sunday. Please join us at the starting line or on the marathon route to cheer on all our runners participating in this marathon and their support of our veterans!
