PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Final Tax Roll and Warrant for the Village of Babylon has been completed for the 2009-2010 tax year.  Taxes become due on
June 1, 2009,  payable without penalty until July 1, 2009. Payments are to be made at the Village Clerk/Tax Receiver’s Office Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, except holidays, located at 153 West Main Street, Babylon, New York (or by mail- must have a  U.S. Postal postmark by July 1, 2009.  -Postage meter not accepted).  Payments received after July 1, 2009 will accrue a 5% penalty immediately, pursuant to Real Property Tax Law Section 1432.  Taxes received after July 31, 2009 accrue an additional 1% penalty monthly thereafter until paid. Additional fees are added as of September 1, 2009.  The Village of Babylon may not accept payment of less than the full amount of taxes and interest due.  The collecting officer must collect accrued interest in accordance with Real Property Law Section 1432 when delinquent taxes are paid.

PUBLIC HEARING
VILLAGE OF BABYLON
BABYLON, NEW YORK

PLEASE BE ADVISED the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a public hearing on Monday April 6, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in the Municipal Building, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, New York, to take and hear comments relating to the tentative budget for the fiscal year 2009-2010.  Immediately following the Budget Hearing, the Annual Organizational Meeting will be held.

A copy of the tentative budget will be available in the Office of the Village Clerk as of Wednesday March 25, 2009 where it may be inspected by any interested party during the business hours of 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.

The compensation proposed in said budget for the Mayor is $15,000 per year and $7,500 per year for each Trustee.

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon meet regularly on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of August and December when they only meet on the first Tuesday. The regular meeting is held at 8:00 P.M. in the board room of Village Hall, 153 West Main St., Babylon, NY.  Work sessions are held prior to the regular meeting at  7:00 P.M. in the upstairs conference room.

MEETINGS FOR  2009 ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Work sessions are also held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, at 4:30pm,  in the upstairs conference room
