A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.  On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:45 p.m.  On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:17 p.m.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the September 12th, 2017, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated September 21, 2017:

RESOLVED to accept the Fire Departments actions as read.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $15,037.90 to Herman Katz Cangemi & Clyne, LLP, on behalf of the owners of the parcels listed, for the Tax Years indicated, as per the attached court-ordered settlements.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the American Legion Babylon Post 94 to hold the annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11, 2017.  The parade will begin at 10:00 am at Foster Blvd. and Deer Park Avenue, proceed South on Deer Park Avenue, head West on Montauk Highway to North Carll Avenue, then East on Grove Place to Babylon Post 94, where the ceremony will be held.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an ‘Additional Insured’, as well as a signed and notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for September 26th, 2017:

Trustee Davida commented on the great turn-out for the S.T.O.P. / Shred Day held on Saturday (9/23/17); it was even more successful than last year.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to Babylon Jr.-Sr. High School to hold the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 14th, 2017, starting at 12:00 Noon in the municipal lot behind Gemelli’s. The parade will head West on Main Street, turn North onto North Carll Avenue, and proceed to the Football field parking lot.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an ‘Additional Insured’, as well as a signed and notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $4,414.48 to Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., on behalf of the owner of the parcel listed, for the Tax Years indicated, as per the attached court-ordered settlement.

RESOLVED to grant permission to Babylon Little League to use the Locust Avenue ball fields on Sunday, October 1st, 2017, (rain date October 8th), for the Third Annual “Hits for Hunger” Clinic.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an ‘Additional Insured’, as well as a signed and notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

Mayor Scordino made the following announcement:

Village of Babylon Offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick-up on Monday, October 9th, 2017, in observance of the Columbus Day Holiday.  Residents should not put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on holidays.

The meeting was opened to the public;
