The meeting opened at 7:03 p.m.

The Deputy Clerk read the legal notice:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing at 153 West Main Street, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the application of 111 Restaurant Corp. to add outdoor seating to the restaurant/bar, the Brixton, 111 Deer Park Avenue.

Copy of application and plans may be examined at the office of the Village Clerk, between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday.

All interested persons should appear at the above time and place and they will be given the opportunity to be heard.  All applicants and their duly appointed representatives must appear in person at the above hearing.

Applicant:       Frank Bragaglia                     Phil

111 Restaurant Corp.              31 Baker Place

            54 Friendly Court                   Patchogue, NY

            Babylon, NY  11702

Property:       [Section 010 / Block 04 / Lot 007]

The Brixton

111 Deer Park Ave.

Babylon, NY  11702

Frank Bragaglia explained to the Board that they would like to have an outdoor patio with 20 seats. [5 Tables, 20 seats] It will have a lounge-type atmosphere with tables and couches, café string lights and low volume background speaker music.  There will be a service bar but no bar stools. The fence is existing but they will reinstate as well as the gates around the dumpster. The only entrance to the patio will be through the building and not through the patio gates, which will require monitoring.  They are not including plans for a fire pit at this time and are aware that any changes require another hearing.

The Board asked for specifics regarding the outdoor seasonal period and the hours still need to be ironed out; Sunday to Thursday to 11:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 12:00 a.m.?

Any requests for an occasional acoustic musician/singer on a Saturday of Sunday afternoon would require permission on a per case basis.

The Board also clarified that there are to be no canopies or awnings and NO enclosures; table umbrellas only.

The meeting was opened to the public; no one spoke in favor or against this application.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to reserve decision.
