REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

OF THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON WAS HELD IN THE BOARDROOM,

153 WEST MAIN STREET, BABYLON, NEW YORK,  ON TUESDAY,

MAY 12, 2015

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:01p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Muldowney.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the April 28, 2015 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to hire John McArdle as a part time Highway Laborer with a salary of $8.50 per hour, effective May 4, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amounts indicated below to each of the applicants listed for the return of ZBA sign(s) for partial refund:

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph Parish to maintain a 5’x8’ temporary sign [for a time period to be determined] on the front lawn of the Parish Center located at 39 North Carll Avenue, to advertise their Vacation Bible School which will be held August 10th – August 14th, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to reappoint the following people to the positions and terms as indicated:

Teresa Allar – Village Assessor for one year, to April 2016

David Roth – Attorney for the Zoning Board of Appeals for four years, to April 2019

                         Special Counsel for the Zoning Board of Appeals

Trustee Davida announced that this weekend will be the first of three Saturday registrations to be held for swimming lessons and pool membership, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to terminate the employment of Gary Harden as a Highway Laborer, effective April 25, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to hire Magnor A. Mejia as a full time Highway Laborer with an annual salary of $20,800, effective April 27, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED, IN ACCORDANCE with the Service Road Program, a portion of the following service road is conveyed to the adjacent property owner:

Part of Section 5, Block 2, Lot 137.11, adjoining 30 Frederick Avenue (Section 5 / Block 2 / Lot 110)

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph Parish to maintain temporary signs, for a time period to be determined, as follows:

Trustee Muldowney announced that the renovation of the Stone Dock on Shore Road has been completed, and commented on the fine job that was done by Quintal Contracting.

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to increase the annual salary of Jason Brunjes $2,000.00, effective April 5, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Chamber of Commerce to change the date of the Shopping Crawl, originally approved for Saturday, May 16th, to be rescheduled to Sunday, September 20, 2015, with sidewalk access.

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to remove the current exemptions and restore full assessment to the properties attached, and bill the new owners accordingly, for the Tax Year(s) as indicated.
