A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.  On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:08 p.m. On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Silvestri and unanimously carried, the Board entered into Executive Session at 7:12 p.m. to discuss sensitive properties.  On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried, the Executive Session closed at 7:55 p.m. and the meeting adjourned.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:03 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Davida.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the March 12th, 2019 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated March 22, 2019:

At the regular monthly meeting of the Fire Council held March 19, 2019, the Fire Council took the following actions and we await your approval:

Took off Sick Leave with Medical Clearance

The Mayor recognized and congratulated re-elected Trustee Davida and newly-elected Trustee Silvestri; the Board recognized and congratulated re-elected Mayor Scordino.

RESOLVED to accept the attached Assessor Petition and RP-552 regarding the property located at 34 West Main Street [Section 014 / Block 01 / Lot 011], adding a Babylon Industrial Development Agency PILOT Payment Exemption for the Tax Years 2018 through 2030, as indicated on the attached.

RESOLVED to add property maintenance charges in the amount of $600.00 to the 2019/20 tax bill for 24 Paumanake Avenue.  [Section 007 / Block 01 / Lot 005]

On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried,

WHEREAS a Bid Opening was held on Thursday, March 14th, 2019, for plastic bags,

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to award the bid to:

with a bid price of $18.38 per 100 bags.

On the motion of Trustee Silvestri, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Rotary Club to hold the 14th Annual Dirty Sock 10K Run on Sunday, August 11th, 2019, from 8:00 am. to 11:00 am., with the start and finish adjacent to the tennis courts on the north side of Park Avenue.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificate of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Trustee Adams, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $50.00 to Luisa Olivera of NZ-GREI Bakery Café for the return of one Board of Trustees Public Hearing sign for partial refund.

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Beautification Society to maintain [11”x17”] temporary signs throughout the Business District from March 26th through April 27th, 2019, to advertise the Arbor Day Celebration to be held on April 27th at 12:30 p.m. at the Bayman Statue.

On the motion of Trustee Adams, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to add the liens highlighted on the attached chart to the 2019/20 Tax Bills.

Mayor Scordino made the following announcement:

The Budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year was received by the Village Clerk from the Village Treasurer on March 20, 2019, and has been presented to the Board by the Village Clerk.

Please take Notice:  The annual Budget Hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at which time comments relating to the tentative budget will be heard.  Immediately following the Budget Hearing, the Annual Organizational Meeting will be held.

The meeting was opened to the Public; no one addressed the Board.

Meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
