A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.  On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 7:03 p.m.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to enter into Executive Session at 7:05 p.m. to discuss Code Enforcement Issues with the Village Attorney.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to return to the Public Session at 7:30 p.m.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried,

the meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON WAS HELD IN THE BOARDROOM,

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Basile.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2018, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

On the motion of Trustee Adams, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to St. Joseph’s Church to hold a ‘LIVE STATIONS OF THE CROSS’ on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, from 1:15 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried,

WHEREAS a Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, and

WHEREAS at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held February 27, 2018, it was resolved to approve the application of Brooke Jankow to expand the restaurant, Swell Taco, 135 Deer Park Avenue to add 11 additional seats,

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to approve and adopt the attached Covenants and Restrictions dated March 5, 2018, for Swell Taco, 135 Deer Park Avenue.  [Section 010 / Block 04 / Lot 004]

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Greater Long Island Running Club to stage their 10K Suffolk Training Run on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., meeting at the Tennis Courts and proceeding on the Southard’s Pond Trail.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed an ‘Additional Insured’, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for March 13th, 2018:

General Account:                    $  285,689.83

Conklin House:                                   266.00                          

TOTAL GENERAL FUND:  $   285,955.83

TOTAL:                                 $ 285,955.83

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Jr.-Sr. High School to use the North* field on Locust Avenue for Junior High Softball team practices, beginning March 26th through June 6th, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  This permission is granted contingent upon timely receipt of the required Certificates of Insurance with the Village of Babylon listed as an “Additional Insured”, as well as a signed & notarized ‘Hold Harmless’ Agreement.  *This resolution amends the original resolution of February 13, 2018 which granted permission to use the South Field.

Trustee Muldonwey commented that the Golf course was not able to open as planned due to inclement weather; hopefully it will open within the next two weeks.

Mayor Scordino thanked Skip and his crew for the great job clearing the roadway through these past few nor’easters.

The meeting was opened to the public;

Frank Curtin, 420 Fire Island Avenue, asked about solutions to the flooding problems in the Southern tier of the Village.
