A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016.  On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 5:06 p.m.  On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Trustee Muldowney.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the July 12th, 2016, regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

The Deputy Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated July 20, 2016:

At the regular monthly meeting of the Fire Council held July 19, 2016, the Fire Council took the following actions and we await your approval:

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to accept the Fire Department actions as read.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $6.30 to Cyntine, LLC, for overpayment of 2016/17 taxes on 329 Park Avenue [Section 5 / Block 2 / Lot 11.1].

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the residents of Roosevelt Street to hold a Block Party on Saturday, August 27th, 2016, from 12:00 Noon to 11:00 p.m., with a rain date of September 10th, 2016.  The street will be blocked between Deer Park Avenue and Siegel Blvd., with a barricade at Cleveland Street, subject to parking restrictions for emergency purposes.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Adams and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to accept the Contract / License Agreement between the Village of Babylon and Molto Vino, Ltd, for the pool concession at the Gilbert C. Hanse Municipal Pool, for the 2016 and 2017 pool seasons.   (#1480)

ALSO BE IT RESOLVED to amend the time that wine and beer may be sold to start at 2:00p.m.

Trustee Davida announced that the Village Swim Meet will be held at the pool this Saturday, July 30th, at 9:00 a.m.

On the motion of Trustee Adams, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue refunds in the amounts indicated below to each of the applicants listed for the return of ZBA sign(s) for partial refund:

On the motion of Trustee Adams, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for July 26th, 2016:

Trustee Adams commented that the Summer Recreation Gymnastics show will be held August 4th at 5:30 p.m. Trustee Adams also reminded everyone about the free concerts at the Gazebo on Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m.

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $50.00 to Keith Dahmen for partial refund for the return of two (2) Board of Trustee Public Hearing Signs for the property located at 258 Deer Park Avenue.  [Gino’s Pizza]

Trustee Basile announced that the Conklin House will host a “Seniors Photo Exhibit” on Sunday, August 28th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $65.00 to Joseph Hands for overpayment of boat slip #59 at Lewis Pond.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the residents of Cadman Avenue to hold a Block Party on Saturday, August 13th, 2016, from 12:00 Noon to 11:00 p.m.  The street will be blocked between Locust Avenue and Park Avenue, subject to parking restrictions for emergency purposes.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant a license to the following applicant to drive a taxi cab for Lindy’s Taxi in the Village of Babylon:          Thomas Martello

The Mayor made the following announcements:

–  The Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., to consider the application of Mark Perlman, principal of Main Street Theatre Partners, LLC, to operate a theater and performing arts center at 34 West Main Street.  Copy of application and plans may be examined at the office of the Village Clerk, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

–  Please be advised that there will be no second Board Meeting in August.
