A work session was held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon on Tuesday, December 16, 2014.  On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting opened at 4:30 p.m.  On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:05 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Amelia.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the December 9, 2014 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and dispense with the reading of the same.

The Village Clerk read the letter from the Fire Department dated December 17, 2014:

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried,

BE IT RESOLVED that the Publishing fee to be added to the unpaid tax parcels, effective February 2015, will be $20.00.

Trustee Amelia thanked the Highway Department for the terrific job they did getting the trees planted prior to the Christmas Holiday.

On the motion Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to approve the following warrant for January 13, 2015:

On the motion Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to accept the formal request of Charles Pfankuchen to retire from the Village of Babylon, effective December 31, 2014.

On the motion Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to the Babylon Little League to hold the Opening Day Parade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th, 2015.  This permission is granted contingent upon the timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance.

On the motion Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED that the Treasurer of the Village of Babylon be directed to hold a tax sale at the Municipal Building at 153 West Main Street, Babylon, New York, on Saturday, the 28th of February, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.

Trustee Basile announced that the Conklin House Award for Volunteerism was presented this past Sunday to Theresa Santmann.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to increase the hourly salary of Hykiem Manning .50 per hour effective December 15, 2014.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to amend the approval dated September 24, 2014, to expand Del Fuego Restaurant, as per the attached.

ALSO BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED to adopt the Covenants and Restrictions for Del Fuego Restaurant, as per the attached.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to grant permission to Bicycle Shows U.S. to hold their annual ‘Ride to Montauk’ bicycle event from the Babylon Long Island Railroad Station to Montauk on Saturday, May 16, 2015.  Set up will begin the afternoon of Friday, May 15th, and be gone by Sunday afternoon, May 17th.  This permission is granted contingent upon the timely receipt of required Certificates of Insurance.

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED in accordance with the Records Retention and Disposition Schedule MU-1, the following items are to be disposed of:            ‘Prior Written Notice of Defect’ Log – prior to 2008

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to issue a refund in the amount of $250.00 to Spence Richardson, as he will not be using Winter Mooring slip #91 at East Creek.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to hire Jason Brunjes as Labor Crew Leader with an annual salary of $50,000 effective January 5, 2015.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED that the locations on the attached list are hereby designated as Polling Places for the General Village Election to be held on March 18, 2015.  Polling places will be open on said day between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.  This Election is for Mayor and two Trustees, each for a term of four years.

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried, it was

RESOLVED to reverse the EPR dated December 9, 2014, to House to Home Realty as indicated below, as this was a duplication of a previously paid EPR.

RESOLVED to grant a license to each applicant listed below to drive a taxi cab for Sunset Taxi in the Village of Babylon:                          John Lewis           Hussin A. Selem

Mayor Scordino made the following announcement:

Village of Babylon Offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick-up on Monday, January 19, 2015, in observance of the Martin Luther King Day Holiday.

Residents should not put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on holidays.  These items should be put out the following week on your regularly scheduled rubbish / recycling day.

The Mayor thanked Chief Sasuk and the entire Fire Department for the great job they did containing the house fire on Strong Avenue this past weekend.

The Meeting was opened to the public; No one addressed the Board.
