REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BABYLON WAS HELD IN THE BOARDROOM 153 WEST MAIN STREET BABYLON, NEW YORK ON TUESDAY

 

DECEMBER 11, 2012

 

PRESENT: Mayor Ralph Scordino

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried

 

Mayor Scordino opened the meeting at 7:06 p.m.  

 

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried

 

Mayor Scordino adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.

 

Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees opened at 8:05 p.m.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Trustee Davida

 

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: approve the minutes of the previous meeting and dispense with the reading of the same.

 

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: re-appoint Philip Franke as Chairman to the Architectural Review Board for a three year term which will expire in December of 2015.

 

On the motion of Trustee Basile, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: grant permission to the Babylon Little League to hold their annual Opening Day Parade on Saturday, April 6, 2012.

 

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: approve the following warrant for December 11, 2012

 

General Account:

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: appoint Mary Adams to the Architectural Review Board for a three year term which will expire in December 2015 with an annual salary of $1,000.00 effective December 11, 2012.

 

On the motion of Trustee Muldowney, seconded by Trustee Basile, and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: increase the salary of Kevin Cox $1,000.00 effective December 18, 2012, having completed the six month probationary period.

 

 

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: issue a refund in the amount of $10.37 to Walter Corlett 55 Paumanake Ave. for the overpayment of taxes.

 

On the motion of Trustee Davida, seconded by Trustee Amelia and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE Records Retention and Disposition Schedule MU-1, the following items are to be disposed of as of December 12, 2012.

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: accept the resignation of Theresa DelToro from the Architectural Review Board effective December 7, 2012.

 

On the motion of Trustee Amelia, seconded by Trustee Davida and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: grant permission to Vincenzo Cottone to attach flags and balloons on

the building located at 376 Deer Park Ave. until January 2, 2013.

 

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney

 

WHEREAS, The Village of Babylon seeks to repair storm damage to the roof and building structure of the Gilbert C. Hanse Municipal pool located at 700 Fire Island Avenue, Babylon, NY SCTM# 102-022-03-066;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will act as Lead Agency for the purpose of SEQRA for this application.

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Babylon seek to repair of roofing general building repairs on the property at 700 Fire Island Avenue, SCTM# 102-022-03-066 and is Lead Agency for the purpose of the STATE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY REVIEW;

 

Be it RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees in their capacity as Lead Agency hereby ACCEPT the Negative Declaration NOTICE OF DETERMINATION OF NON- SIGNIFICANCE dated December 11, 2012 attached.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney

 

WHEREAS, the Village of Babylon seeks to repair storm damage to the retaining wall and the decking of the Gilbert C. Hanse Municipal pool located at 700 Fire Island Avenue, Babylon, NY, SCTM# 102-022-03-066;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Babylon will act as Lead Agency for the purpose of SEQRA for this application.

 

WHEREAS, THE Village of Babylon seek to repair storm damage to the concrete retaining wall and decking of the Village pool on the property at 700 Fire Island Avenue, Babylon NY, SCTM#  102-022-03-066;

 

Be it RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees in their capacity as lead Agency hereby ACCEPT the negative Declaration NOTICE OF DETERMINATIONOF NON-SIGNIFICANCE dated December 11, 2012 attached.

On the motion of Mayor Scordino, seconded by Trustee Muldowney and unanimously carried it was

 

RESOLVED TO: approve the following applicant a license to drive a taxi in the Village of Babylon for Lindy’s;

Jennifer R. Aguilar

 

Mayor Scordino announced that Village of Babylon offices will be closed and there will be no rubbish or garbage pick-up on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 and Tuesday January 1, 2013 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays.  There will be a special rubbish only collection on Wednesday, December 26th for those whose regular rubbish collection would have been December 25th

Just a reminder that residents cannot put rubbish or recycling out to the curb on Holidays.

These items should be put out the following week on you regular scheduled rubbish/recycling day.

 

A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00 p.m. to consider the adoption of Local Law #1 of the year 2013.

 

There will be two Bid Openings on Thursday, January 17th at 9:30 for the repairs at the Village Pool.

 

Mayor Scordino also announced that there will be no second meeting in December.

 

Mayor Scordino and the Board of Trustees wished everyone a Happy Healthy Holiday Season.
